Frequently Asked Questions
Bidding
How can I place a bid?
After receiving approval and logging into your account, you can access any live auction and set your proxy bid. It is advisable to enter a bid that represents the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the order. The auction will indicate the minimum bid required to participate. Once you have entered the bid amount, simply click the “Maximum Automatic Bid” button.
GSM Go Auction considers bids as a binding commitment.
What is proxy bidding?
All bids on GSM Go Auction are considered “proxy” bids. To use this system effectively, we recommend entering your maximum bid, which is the highest amount you are willing to pay for the item. Once you’ve entered your maximum bid, the system will automatically manage bids on your behalf, acting as your proxy.
For example, let’s say an auction starts at $1,000, and you decide you’re willing to pay up to $5,000 for the item. You enter $5,000 as your maximum bid. At this point, you are winning the auction at $1,000. If another bidder places a maximum bid of $1,100, your $5,000 proxy bid will automatically surpass it by an increment, setting your current winning bid at $1,120.
No need to place a second bid. The system will automatically outbid other participants, never exceeding your maximum bid of $5,000. However, if another bidder places a maximum bid higher than $5,000, your bid will be surpassed. You can then decide to enter a new maximum bid or explore other auctions.
The bid increment amount applies only to the minimum bid. Maximum bids from different bidders can vary by any amount. In the above example, when your current winning bid is $1,120 with a maximum bid of $5,000, the minimum bid for others wishing to participate would be $1,140. If a bidder enters a maximum bid of $1,130, the system will automatically increase your bid by an increment to $1,140, maintaining your winning bid position.
Why does GSM Go Auction employ proxy bidding?
Placing a proxy bid (or entering your maximum bid) allows our system to bid on your behalf, ensuring that it does not exceed the predetermined maximum bid amount. This enables you to secure the auction at the most competitive price, automatically surpassing bids from other participants. It is important to note that your maximum bid remains confidential and is not visible to other bidders. Only the current winning bid is displayed.
Do the items come with actual photos?
The images in live auctions on the GSM Go Auction platform are typically stock images or representative images, unless otherwise specified on the auction page.
What is the size of the lots for sale and what is their condition?
You can access information about the quantity of the lot and other details by referring to the auction section labeled “Description.” Meanwhile, in the “Bids” section, you will find all competitors’ bids (obscured) as well as your own.
If you need further details, we encourage you to contact customer support and provide feedback on what additional information would be helpful for you.

How do I know if I win?
Upon the auction’s closure, the winning bidder will be notified via email. A won auction will also be displayed in the “Auctions” section of the “My Account” page under the “Bids Won” tab.
Can I retract my bid?
Placing a bid implies your commitment to purchase the auction at the bid price. Please note that all bids are binding and impact how other users bid in the auction, as well as the final selling price of the auction. If the leading bid is disqualified for any reason, GSM Go Auction will reinstate the next highest bid as the winning bid. GSM Go Auction reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to decide whether to cancel a bid or not.
